Day 10 – Corona Mountain Goat Challenge
The skies darkened in Buckinghamshire today… It was noticeable how many fewer people were out and about. (I assume the Government will interpret it as “their successful lockdown” campaign. But actually it just rained… Whoops dd I nearly get political there!). Most importantly did it stop our goats? Did Lisa ever remember WHY she wanted to go upstairs? What is happening at the head of the heard? Has Hannah finally thrown in the towel on her RED streak?
People THESE are the questions that matter!! Let’s find out…
First worrying news… Goat Almost Down 🙁 Trevor, hope the niggel recovers, you have really helped bring this to life with some awesome pictures. Thanks for the contributions so far, I’m sure we all send best wishes that it turns into nothing… Maybe a crack at the mini challenge???
23 goats out today. Nope they don’t care about the weather!! We are into the home straight now with the challenge ending on Friday and the winner crowned on Saturday. Oh yes… The prize. Thought about a tee-shirt (very traditional ‘race’ reward), but they never fit and mostly never get worn. Pleased to announce that first prize is a £15 Amazon Voucher. Which to be fair considering nobody had to pay to enter and you got 14 days fun (hopefully) is not too shabby for doing what we all love doing anyway 😉
Back to the days happenings. I’m starting to think that Lisa might be a fellow triathlete? Not satisfied with getting in everyones way on the stairs yesterday she did a rather amazing form of BRICK session today, without leaving her house!! Check it out on the Strava Club Page. Inspired 🙂
Talking of inspired Kerry, got it together for another hill rep session and 82m in a relatively flat part of the world Great Going! And I think that means you win the Kerry / Heidi tussle for the day 🙂
I read on Rob’s feed that he is going for a ‘run 10k every day’ commitment – you know what I might just join him (figuratively OBVIOUSLY before you phone the SAS and get them to come round and “tidy me up”).
Sally had another bonkers day on her run. But I have to ask is that news? 😉 Although to be fair she did throw in a very credible 227m – Nice work Sally!
What is news is Hannah. Again she went out. Again she got it together (before work this time). Again she made her point loud and clear: 237m and todays Fluffy Vest winner. Have you got another four days in you?
So the overall challenge. It really could not be closer! We now have a clear two goat break away at the front, but bloody hell its close. Hannah in the lead now from Simon but by only 2m… Four days to go. They have both proven themselves as we have got to know them. So who do YOU think is going to win?? Maybe a little support on Facebook as they both entertain us for a few more days…? 😉
But looking a little further down the board there have just been so many great performances. Sally has really gone for it and is now firmly towards the front of the main pack with Linda “nothing to see here” Wilkie and Allen “lives somewhere hilly” Bennett.
Tomorrow is Tuesday (I say that mainly to remind myself!! Its nuts isn’t it…) and the mini challenge is still uncontested. Who’s going to throw their hat in the ring for a 10k run? Could fit with Rob’s plans… Sally has been limbering up… Stella might need to stretch her legs (and take a map!)… Could be one for Viv… Liz has some 10k routes on her doorstep with easily enough ascent…
You get the idea – now get your trainers on and give me a story for Tuesday please 😉
